One of the many ways a company driver can take the next step in their career to become an owner operator is to enroll in a truck leasing programs, allowing them to make more cash, own the truck they drive, be a little more flexible with their schedule, and start their own business.
The drivers are automatically reclassified as Owner Operators(O/O)
when they participate in truck lease purchase programs.
That means they make money from the get-go as owner operator,
but it also means they will start taking the responsibility of an O/O to maintain and run the truck.
